Travel Tools and Services

  • Expedia – One of my favorite travel resources for booking flights, hotels, cars, and more. I typically use this or its associated site, Hotels.com, for booking hotel stays. They have many options to choose from, and you can earn rewards points to use for future stays.
  • Viator – My go-to site when I want to book a tour or other travel experience. Viator has a wide range of experiences that I wouldn’t have heard of otherwise, and they make booking easy.
  • Rentalcars.com – This search engine lets you compare prices from various car rental companies. You can cancel most bookings for free up to 48 hours before pickup, so you have flexibility in case your trip plans change.
  • TripAdvisor – I frequently use TripAdvisor when planning trips, local or otherwise. It’s a great tool for discovering fun things to do, complete with photos and reviews so you know what to expect.
  • FindMeGlutenFree – As someone who has to eat gluten-free, I know firsthand how stressful it can be to find something safe to eat in an unfamiliar city. This website/app helps you find nearby restaurants with gluten-free options.
